“The first big event in the celebration of Highlander's
fenth anniversary was a concert by PAUL ROBESON given at Riverside Stadium
on Kay 10, 1942 sponsored by Highlander's Washington Committee for benefit
of the Highlander Folk School, Monteagle, Tennessec.' The concert had an
underlying note of patriotism and contained such songs as "The Bill of ~
Rights," a song of the Soviet Red Army and another from workers in a German
concentration camp. ROBESON sang in Russian, German, and Hebrem, as well
