application for membership in the Commmist Partyof Germany, but had given his
application card to an unidentified friend, and he never knew what action was
taken in connection with _the application, and that ha had never paid dues.
WARGOLIS also stated to hat RUTHPISCHSR, the subject's sister, and
GENARDIPEISLER, the subject's brother, had bean prominent figures in the
Communist Party in Germany.
On November 29th, the New Tork Office advised by teletype that
EISLER had advised Immigration and Naturalization Service, New York, that
he had arrived at the Algonquin Hotel on the monring of November 27th, and

On Novamber 26, 197, a highly confidential source furnished the
following information. A letter dated august 11, 1947 was addressed to the
