Result of examination:
The results of the requested latent fingerprint
examinations are being reported separately. Further, the
results of the document examination of the Q207 Excess Insurance
Rental Contract and "Also Submitted" copies will be the
subject of a separate report.
Specimens 0197 through 0200 are .30 Carbine caliber
military cartridge cases which were identified as having been
fired in one teapon. Specimens 0197 through Q139 bear "LC 52,"
"EC 68" and "LC 54"‘headstamps respectively, indicating
manufacture by Lake City Ordnance Plant, InGependcence, iWissouri.
Specimen Q200 bears a ‘pc 42" headstanp indicating Peters
Cartridse Company, Kings Hill, Ohio, manufacture. It is noted
that the weapon which fired the Q197 through Q200 cartridge
cases is net the same weepon which fired the four cartridge cases |
| _- found on the ground in front of 2603 Benvenue; Apartment 4,
where PATRICIA HEARST was abducted (specinens Q15 through 018,
Laboratory report, February 28, 1974).
Specimens Q213 and 0214 are .30 Carbine caliber
cartridge cases which were identified as having been fired in
the same weapon which fired the Q15 throuch 018 cartridge cases
recovered at the abduction scene. The 0213 cartridge case bears
a "KCC 43" headstamp indicating it was manufactured for military
use by the Western Cartridge Company. The "WW 30 Carbine"
headstamp on the 0214 cartridge case indicates it was commercial!
manufactured by Winchester-Western, East Alton, Illinois.
Specimens Q201 through 9204 are .30 Carbine caliber
cartridges which were identified as having been loaded into ane
extracted from the weapon which fired the 915 through Q18, 9213
and 0214 cartridge cases. Specimens Q201 and Q204 have been
loaded with copper-jacketed, soft point bullets. The nose of thc
bullet portion of the Q204 cartridge has a shallow, hollowed-
out indentation. No foreign material was noted in this -hollovce-
TT out area. Specimens 0201 and 0204 bear a “trontier 30 Carbine"
