On the evening of 2/1/75, after conclusions of more than 10 hours of interview, an attempt was made to have WALTER SCOTT take polygraph examination. The results are considered meaningless primarily due to his fatigue at that time. On Sunday, 2/2/75, WALTER SCOTT returned for - a polygraph interview and advised he had had a restful night. The conclusions of the polygraph examination were made considering the past and present mental conditions of WALTER SCOTT, whose overall demeanor pives appearance of being tense. SCOTT smiles infrequently. Some of his actions to release tensions are not the best interest in obtaining reac- able polygraph charts, for example, he was observed and admitted that he was biting his teeth together, which he classifies as a way to release tension. This interferes with the polypraph chart. Due to the extensive pre-polygraph interview, the polygraph examination was directed toward verification in ascertaining the truthfulness of WALTER SCOTT's story, to ascertain if he was implicated in anv way to the harboring of PATRICIA HEARST or the HARRISes and primarily toward checking the truthfulness of his account of PATTY HEARST being in his parents' Las Vegas apartment around 9/27/74, K I .
