FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATIO@D ‘Dove February 5, 3974 _ STEVEN-ANBREW-WEEB, 2603 Benvenue, Apartment 4, °°. home telephone 848-7827, was interviewed at approximately -° 12:40 a.m. in Room 237 at Cowell Hospital, University of California, Berkeley. He advised that he and his fiance, PATRICIA HEARST, had eaten dinner in his apartment, and at about 9:00 p.n., February 4, 1974, there was a knock on his front door, and he did not open it as he had seen someone coming to the door ..and not wanting to be bothered, he did not open it. The next thing he noticed was the door, which was unlocked, was opened and a white female opened the door and said, "I need some help this minute, I ran into a car out front." She was dressed rather sloppily and appeared to have on a sweat shirt“and a lot of other clothes which he could not recall other than pos- Sibly light colored. ; Immediately behind this girl, he next noticed a negro male barrel in behind her holding a shoulder weapon, which he thinks was like a deer rifle. He could only see wood on the stock and could not see a leather sling or the barrel but thinks it was a rifle. Immediately behind this black male was a second person which he did not see but thinks it may have been a black male also. The first black male with the rifie forced him to the floor with his face down and said something to the effect, . “Where's the safe", and also, "Where's the money”. Each time the man asked him this, he would kick him in the face with his booted foot. At the same time the black male had forced him to the floor, he noticed that the white female and the other male had taken his fiancee, PATTY, into the kitchen, and he could only hear her whimpering or crying and could not hear specific words. The black male began tying his hands behind his back and made some remark, "Be quiet or we'll: have to knock you out". The black male with the rifle was very de - cisive and made no hesitation in any of his moves or remarks. i eee oem - 2/5/74 ot Berkeley, California Filee. SF 7-855 | .
