The Department has requested investigation based upon allegations that the dead victims was» shot while sleeping in bed, The Department has specifically requested a diagram of the premises and has requested that the investigation include an examination of bullet holes to determine the direction from which the bullets were fired since it has been alleged that no shots were fired by the Panthers, SAC, Chicago has requested that the Exhibits Section prepare diagram requested by the Department and that an expert irom the FB. Laboratory make an on-the-scene examination to determine the dir from which the bullets were fired. ACTION: In view of the importance of this case and the widespread publicity ita receiving, it is recommended that the Exhibits Section and the FBI Laboratory comply with the SAC's request, The SAC, Chicago should perféct arrangements for access to the space prior to the departure from Washington of the Laboratory and Exhibits Section personnel,
