Dear Sir:
There are being transmitted herewith ten pages of
the handwriting of subject WESLEY HAMPTON which pages are numbered
as specimens 1 - 8b as well as a two-page letter which is unlabeled,
the first page of which is dated at Brooklyn, New York, on April 17,
1941, and is addressed to "Dear Sister Margie," and the second page
of which begins "possible I will drive out" as well as a calling
card of WESLEY HAMPTON which was enclosed’ with this lette which in
turn was enclosed in an envelope addressed to MARGARET CUMMINS,

The above-mentioned handwriting specimens were obtained
from HAMPTON while he was being interviewed in connection with
instant case and the letter was in his possession at that time
and is being forwarded inasmuch as it is believed that it presents °
a better specimen for comparison since HAMPTON appeared to be trying
to disguise his handwriting while writing the specimens 1 - &b.
7 It is requested that the Laboratory compare the handwriting sub-
mitted herewith the the handwriting appearing on specimens Ql,
QR ar submitted in connection with this case formerly entitled,
"JOHN-ROGERS; Mrs. FRANCES PERKINS. Victim; EXTORTION (Bureau File
9-7088)" referred to in Laboratory report #39,705 dated January 9,
1941. It might be noted that the questioned specimens consist of
an elope and a two-page letter dated December 5
