Upon arrival, the above Laboratory personnel met with
ASAC Jim Freeman in the Miami Field Office. ASAC Freeman advised
that the Metro-Dade Police Department (MDPD), Dade County, Florida,
was conducting the shooting scene search and would examine evidence
collected at the scene in their laboratory. The above Laboratory
personnel then traveled to the shooting scene which was located LIC
at 12201 S.W. 82nd Avenue. Contact was made with SA
(ph}, Miami Office, who was in the command center at the shooting |
scene. He advised that Sergeant MDPD homicide detective,
was in charge of the _shooting scene Investigation. Contact was
made with Detective and the above Laboratory personnel remained
on the scene until approximately 1:30 a.m., 4/12/86 when all logical
evidence and all of the vehicles involved in the shooting incident
had been removed. While at the scene, Bureau Laboratory personnel
were able to assist mobile crime laboratory personnel in collecting
serology and firearms-related evidence from the scene, make preliminary
sketches of the scene while the vehicles were in place and photograph
the scene with the vehicles in place. Also, a preliminary trajectory
analysis was made with the vehicles in place and the location of
each vehicle was marked for future reference.

The Bureau vehicles and the subjects’ ve hicl were moved
to a_ hanger at the Opa-locka Airport north of Miami. On 4/12/86,

in collecting serology, firearms and other trace (paint, rubber
smears) evidence from these vehicles. so photographed
these vehicles at this time. On 4/12/86, an
ade detailed measurements of the shooting scene to assis b7
them in preparing sketches, overlays and other exhibits upon return
to the Laboratory. At approximately 2:00 p.m., SA ttended

the SACs briefing at the Miami Field Office upon the arrival of
the administrative inquiry team which was headed by Inspector
SA lso went to the shooting scene with the shooting
inguiry team and then directed them to and traveled with them to
‘tthe hanger at Opa-locka Airport where the vehicles were being searched
and evidence collected. Detective Si MDPD homicide ......,
detective, was in charge.of the processing of the vehicles-at the ~~":
hanger for the MDPD.
