The proceeds of the meeting, sponewered by the above named person, at the Book =
Cadillac Hotel, Tuesday, February 5th. Has been reported to the writer as follows.
The meeting wae held in the grand ballroom of the hotel, and approximatly nine
hundred people attended the meeting. The speakers for the meeting were Cmith, and the
Rey. Fr. sts Arther&Terminello, of Alabama. It is reported that Smith made the first
address, at which time he illustrated his recents experiences before the audiences of
the country, where he had spoken at a recent speaking thor. It is reported thet Smith
centered his main attack at Hollywooao California, and the Communistic element in that
city. He is reported to have also spoke highly in favor of the veterans organization,
headed by FredWiister in the city. of Chicago Ill., and aleo against the\Bai Brith, and
the anti defamation League. He is also reported to have spoken in regards to the need {-
for greater cooperation and closer association between the religion's of the United
States, and stated that it a wonderful sy.bol of tolerence when Terminello would mount,
the platform to speak his own mind, {rregardless of the consequences.

In his introduction of Qerminello, Smith referred to hin as the watt couetatn
of the South. Fr. Terminello's mahi theme consisted of an attack upon Comuuniam. The
talk is reported to have begunwith an open attack upon the Kew Deal, Terminello blaming
the New Deal for the sajority of the faults penunected with America today. It fe repcrted
that he nexted renarked on the status of lirs.\foosevelt, revealing that she receives
twenty five thousand dollars in all for her survices at the U.N.C. meetings and her pen
sion and other items for which she receives remuneration. It is then reported t:at he
then began his general discourse,, siating that Communism is political atheism at its
worst. Also, it is reported that pointed out that the leaders of the party at Moscow in-
tend to eliminate al religion in order to " achieve the revolution. * With reference to
the Jews, the priest is reported to have stated, " that we love the man but we condemn
the act." also, in this regards, it is reported that he pointed out certain factors in
his own case, whereby the Jews were directly responsible for his difficulties within
the ranks of the Roman Catholic Church. He is further reported to have stated that the
" Jews may persecute me all] they want, but Z shall continue to remain sterdfast in my
faith that I am right in this cause, and will continue it." Also, it is reported that
Terminellostated that the main reason for his appearence on the public pletform is be -
he wanted to prove that a cooperative move is posiible, as exanplified by Smith in his
talk of the evening.
