I believe I first came in contact withlL_____——_—idat the U.S. vorineb® Per Boc
po Seetion 4n-tanen in ta in carly 1965. I was Operations Officer and he P7C Per Boc
During our tour of: duty in ‘Japon Ivplayed some golf with him but had no
social contact as ho However after hibé Per Boc
return to the United States in 1968 and my subsequent retirenent we did
have social contact and still played golf together until he left the area
for the state of Washington at the end of Jast year. ;

reproach. He will take a social beer or so but does not drink to exces, Per BOC
He is very mature and stable. To my knowledge he has never had any
trouble financlally or with the laws. He is certainly one who appears to
enjoy excellent physical health. :
I know nothing of his organizational affiliations. Hoe is a Joyal Anorican
boyond a doubt. I would rocommend him for a position involving the security
of our nation without the slightest hositation,
He certainly had access to much information in the Merine Corps particularly
when he was a tower chief and their controller.
b6 Per BOC
As | |ne had many and varied responsibilities. He
ha en in charge of one of our towers, had been assistant to the Operations
Officer at El Toro and in Japan. He had beon a Custons Officer at £1 Toro
and responsible for the checking of thousands of persons who went through
that base as a port of entry. It is true that most of the men were
military personnel . but on occasion it was slso civilien employees ang at
times reguler carriers had to put down there because El Toro was theonly
landing field open to them. Ho has always performed woll.
He gets along Well with all sorts of people. He handles people well,
military and civilien.
I feel he is a man who has demonstrated and ability to do s job well, make
decisions properly and to my knowledge has never failed to react promptly
in ean emergency or critical situstion. I would have no question about hin

position with the Federal Government for which he is qualified.
