The 3/18/69, issue of The Atlanta Journal carried an article by JACK NELSON of the Los Angeles Timea Newe Service referring to an interview with RALPH D, ABERNATHY. This article refere to ABERNATHY's position as President of SCIL being shaky and irs, MABTIN LUSHER-KING, JR. taking a sore active role in the 6Fganization which implied that Mra. KING would replace ABERNATHY. In response to the above article, ABERNATHY sent a telegram to the Los Angeles Times News Service and at the sane time sending a copy of the telegrapi.to the Atlanta Journal, _ which telegraa was published in the Atlanta Jo 1 on 3/21/60. - {In the telegram ABERKATHY refers to gross errors of fact aod incorrect opinions in WELSON'’s article and emphatically @enied aaying anything to NELSON renoteliy suggesting his leaderahip as President of SCLC needed solidifying or that it was shaky. ABERNATHY further stated that reports of dissension in SCLC were malicious rumors and deliberate atte apta to bring about division between him and Mra.
