United States District Judge RYAN on June 17, 1953, denied an application by defendants FLYNN, PERRY, JOUNSON, BITTELMAN, TRACHTENBERG, JEROME, LANNON, WEINSTOCK, JONES, GANN@TT, MINTOEL, and CHARNEY for an ~ order to permit them to travel to and from any point Within the Southern District of New York and the Eastern District of New York for the purpose of raising funds. This motion was re-argued before United States District- Judge RYAN on July 1, 1953, and once again he denied the motion, United States District Judge RYAN on June 22, 1953, granted an unopposed application by CHARNEY for an order to permit him to travel to Albany, New York, between and including June 25, 1953, and June 26, 1953, for the purpose of appearing as af counsel in behalf of the Communist Party, USA in "The matter of the inquiry by the Board of Regents relative to subversive organizations pursuant to Chapter 360 of the Laws of 1939 (New York Feinberg Law)”.
