Report of Special Acont D.W. Erantley dated at
Kansas City, Mo. dated 8/17/53, pagos 2 and 16, shows that
4 Browning automatic rifles were recovered from members of
the Barrow gang, ome of which heave been traced to Govern-
ment armories.
I am bringing this to the attention of the Division
with the thought that it may desire to make some representa-
tions to the War Department whereby armories may be more
securely protected from depredation, particularly those
containing Erowning automatic rifles.
The number of rifles and automatic pistols found
in possession of the Barrows, as well as the quantity cof
ammunition so found, indicates that the Government is
furnishing ammunition and equipment to these outlawa,
