The demonstration, according to present plans, will probably move from the Second Ward School area on East Independence Boulevard to the Centennial Building in downtown Charlotte, a distance estimated at approximately two and one-half miles. Due to the distance involved, a motorcade may be used to transport the demonstrators from the school to the Centennial Building. Source advised that members of the Black Solidarity Organization also suggested that attempts be made to secure nationally known Negro personalities to appear at the demonstration. Two of such Negroes suggested were the wife of MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR., and possibly JESSIE JACKSON of Operation Breadbasket. Source advised that plans in regard to the demonstration are still indefinite because of internal bickering and that firm plans will be made during the coming week. resentatives of Secret Service, Appropriate rep military intelligence, and Charlotte, North Carolina, Police Department are cognizant of the above information.
