(It is noted this would have been the weekend of September 26 = September 27, 1970.) ‘4 On October 9, 1970 became aware of two vehicles with New York State tags on them. These vehicles spent three or four days in the Negro area of Lumberton and contained numerous occupants, They were not identified nor were the license plates copied down. On or about the first of October, these vehicles had disappeared and the following sign was erected on the yard of BETTY. JEAN HG.NEAL, 817 Fairmont Road, Lumberton, North Carolina: “Revolutionary Peoples Constitutional Convention, power to the black man, kill the pig. Black Panther Party."
