On February 10, 1969, a source advised the Student
Liberation Front (SLF) is a New Left organization, which was
formed at Duke University, Durham, North Carclina, om Decemter 7, fy
1968, with most of its more active members being reople who
were formerly active members in the Southern Student Organizing
Committee (SSOC) Chapter at Duke. Student Liberation Front was
selected as the name because Southern Student Organizing Committee
had proved to be too controversial, and it w3s belicved that a
new organization with 2 new name would be attractive to more
people at Duke.
