CE 157-6171. DETAILS; 1. ORGANIZATIONAL AND OPERATIONAL DATA The Black Panther Party (BPP) is a black extremist ec. ganization started in Oakland, California, in Dacember, 1966. It advocates the use of guns and suoveilla tactics to bring about the overthrow of the Urited States Government. A. LOCATION OF NORTH CAROLINA HEADQUARTERS North Carolina chapter of Black Panther fatty (BPP), 1333 North Faitexson Avenue, Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Ths above headquarters is located in a twe story frame house situated in a predominantly black residential neighborhood. The house was parchased under a lease-purchase agreement in the name of HAZEL LEED MACK and LEE FAYE-MACK with an initial downpayment of $500 and mont hly rent of $100 per month to be applied to the purchase price of the house at the end of 5 years. The total purchase price far the heuse was $8,500. Or. March 8, 1972, HAZEL MACK contacted the United States Post OLLice, Hinston«Salem, North Carolina, and requested fost Office Box 2019, be charged from the name of DAVID CATO to tex name. HAZEL MACK changed the mame of the firm under which the Fast. Office box is vented from the National Committee to Combat Fascism to the BPP.
