January 20, 1949. He stated, however, that Pacific Tankers!,

that he is not aware of the details of the actual negotiations
in this matter. However, he believes that Pacific Tankers,

names are unknown to him.

travelling outside of New York City. They further stated
that they had been associated with Messrs. HANES and
FRAUKELIN for many yeers as their administrative assistants
and they could recall that Messrs. HANTS and FRANKLIN
participated in Pacific Tankcrs, Inc., for the sole purpose
of financiol investments and took no active part in the
operation of thet concern, GREW LEY stated that, while
JONN W. BANS, won a momber of the Lenrd of Directors of
Pacific Tankers, Inc., his son, JCHN W. HANES, JR., actually
owned the stock.
