Objector furnished unfavorable information which was used by
the Hearing Officer in determining the regiatrant's claim.
He stated that he felt this information was irrelevant to the
_issue. He further refused to furnish the neme or any apecific
information concerning the above incident. ;

EOD yas advised that the FBI was a reporting
agency only, that it was not within this Bureau's jurisdiction
to delete information developed during an investigation, and
that all information develcped is reported in the investigative
report without bias or prejudice,

ane Arurther stated that in a recent case which
had come to his knowledge the recsistrant had been interviewed
by. an Agent of this Bureau concerning his Censcientious Objection.
He stated that it was his knowledge that the Conscientious
Objector was not to be interviewed Auring the investigation.
MESSER was advised that while it is not customary
to interview registrants during a Conscientious Objector in-
vestigation, due to the fact that forms which ere filled out by
the registrant furnishing background information are sometimes
improperly filled out, and that in order to preciude the
possibility 2t appearing that the registrant hes not been
truthful. he may be interviewed with prior permission of tne

not clear. stated that he appreciated the fact that

. wit ined advised in conclusion that he would discuss
the matter of furnishing information to this Bureau at the next
conference with the officials of the APSC to ascertain whether

requests, or whether his organization would insist that questions
be furnished in writing. He stated that he would advise this
office as to the decision of the officials of the AFSc. tis

complaint concerning the FBI or the manner in which they conduct
