eeptioned "Charge by House Unit Denied by Communist." The article re-
ported thet Richard 0. Boyer, Communist writer, cherged that the House
Committee on Un-American Activities made a remark about him in en effort
to discredit the Culturel and Scientific Conference for World Peace held
in March 1949, £6 the Waldorf-Astoria. It was further steted that the
House Committee aeserted thet Mr. Boyer had advocated civil discbecience
at a conference session to an audience that included Dr. ‘lbert Einstein,
Dr. Harlow William Shapley and other scientists, some of them engaged in
atomic work. Mr. Boyer stated that neither Dr. Einstein, Dr. Shapley
nor the other scientists mentioned by th: Committee were rresent when
this paper wes read. .
