ZWILLMAN related that he had control of a
group of individuals who assisted him in operating his
liquor distributing agency in New York during prohibition
days. He stated he spent time at the Victoria Hotel ~
and numerous hot<cis whose names have elace been changed,
He stated that the groups operating this liquor business
were so tremendous that it would be impossible to relate
the various combingtioss, However, he denicd having
been connected with any syndicate o> combination and
stated he operated singly with numerous associates,
ZWILLMAN advised that pUCUALTER, 70 i225, was
in charge cf a proup distributing liquor and was
considered one cf the bigger operators at that time, He said
thet BUCHTAL‘ 's «group was known as the LEPKE-GUARZAH-
EUGS SIEGEL combination,
ZWILLMAN stated that on numercus cccasic2s
it was nevess2ry to contact different groups, inasmuch
as there wag an arrangement between all of the groups
not to "muscle in" on each other's territory, and that
therefore each group was known to distribute a particular
brand of liquor and had a particulary territory.
ZWILEMAN stated that during the ccurse of these
liquor operations he had occasion to lesd money to BUCHALTER
ani vice vers, As a result cf this associaticn
and assistance tc one another, Z¥ILLMAN stated that when-
ever BUCAALTES and his group cesired any favore in
the state of New Jeisey, he would take care of the matter,
and, in turn, if he wished anything taken care of in N.Y,C.,
BOLAALTER Would handle it for hin,
ZWILLMAN stated that considerable investigation
was conducted regtcding him by the Government and DEWEY's
investigators as the result of a $10,000.00 loan which te
made to BUCHALTER in 1835; that information concerning
this iavastigation was told him by persons contacted, whe
later adised him of this fact. In explanation of this
loan, ZWILLMAN stated he never, et any time, was associated
with BUCHALYZR in any business transaction whatssever; that
his interests were his own and that at no tims had ary
clashes concerning infringement on each other's texsritery
