1947, however, when CHRISMAN was approached in this regard, and they had gone
to the boat house where CHRIS kept his boat, C SMAN could not seem to
make the boat run, and after making some excuses thet he had to return to his
office, had steted that he would return in about an hour, and by thet time
his mechanic should have the boat repeired end they could all proceed to Mauri
Island. Mr. ARNOLD informed thet CHRISMAN never returned, thet they were
unable to locate C [SM at any of e telephone numbers he hed given them.
They located DAHL in a movie, according to ARNOLD, and that DAHL,
after making some efforts to locete C » had informed them that iF Mf
had left town for a few days. He further informed t at about this time the
press contacted them and told them an informant had celled and told them
that CHRIS as on his way to Aleske in en Army plane.
Mr. ARNOLD advised that Captain S H hed informed him thet he had
appointment with Major SAN RS at McCord Field end intended to tell
he complete story. During the sfternoon, Captain SMITH and
IDERS came to the hotel roo according to ARNOLD, and some of th
AHL had broug to MM AF 's room, follow the conference,

ir. ARNOLD also gave SA JETTE a copy of the article sent to Mr. PAL
to the Commanding General, “right eld, “Yeyton, Ohio, regarding his sighting
of the nine discs near Mount Rainier on June 24, 1947. This article is also
being enclosed to the Bureau. Mr. ARNOLD advised that he is vitally interested
in th matter and knows that there mst be something to the flying discsstory
He stated that he will do everything in his power to help the Bureau in this
metter. He also advised thet he has no connection whatsoever with the Boise
Stetesmen. He stated that t Boise Statesman has never paid him for any
information he hes given them. He informed that he sincerely believes that
the Boise Statesman is attempting, as he is, to get to the bottom of the flying
discs story. Mr. ARNOL stated that he has told the ebove story to Army
Intelligence a Vaj S$ and to no one else, with the exception of
DAVE JOHNSON e Statesman, Boise, Idaho, rdvised that the Boise
Statesman has never paid Mr. ARNOLD for any news item he has given them, and
has never approached him in this manner. He stated that the Boise Stetesman
is not atten pting to push the flying dises story, but merely attempting to
