23 August 1949 Unidentified Flying Objects (8) Altitude: Object was estimated four (4) to five (5) thousand feet, ound: Wo sound was heard. xhaust trail or not: No exhaust trail was noted, “oe FPrieman, an Air Route Traffic Controller, was on duty « the Seattle Air Route Traffic Control Center at the Seattle-Tacoma Airport and noticed what pared to be a jet aircraft in t rection of the Oly fountains at ted distance twenty (20) to thirty (30) miles away, He brought this to the attention of Mr, Watson who was the senior controller on dutye ‘Since they were aware that no jet units were stationed within this area they noti- fied the McChord Fi t Service Center, The dispatcher on duty at the MeChord Flight Service Center did not have a flight plan o ny jet aircraft or fighter type aircraft in his area and made a check of all the military bases within area to determine if a jet or fighter type aircraft were flying locally from their bases, A negative report was received, Mr, Frieman and Mr, Watson both reported that they were definite rt the object ited displayed visual characteristics of a jet fighter ar that its speed was such to lead them to believe it was a jet aircrafts Lt.
