GALE While talking to the Attorney General on another matter, he said that the President's friend, whom I know,. called him last night and said the FBI was investigating him and what he wanted to point out was that if this is the case, he did not object, but he information they needed from him as well as outside sources. The Attorney General commented he could not imagine what this is, and I said I could not either. The Attorney General said there may be some mistake, but this is the way put it to him. I told the Attorney General I would check. as they know I know and have associated with him, and I think any investigation going on should have been called to my attention first. The Attorney General said that he may be mistaken, but this is the way he put it, and I told him I would find out about it..
