without terrorist incident in San Diego, California August 13-15,.
1996. The San Diego Police Department (SDpD) Criminal
Intelligence Unit advised the FBI and United States Secret.
Service on August 1, 1996 that a reliable confidential.informant
concerning ACT-UP.
No individuals in the gay/homosexual community were
openly discussing the attempted assault on a Presidential.
Candidate. The informant could not provide additional details,
even after the conclusion of the RNc. The SDpD advised the San
Diego Division of the FBI that because no additional details
concerning the attack were forth coming, and the RNc occurred
without incident, the PD case against AcT-up was being closed
The FBI is also placing this matter in a closed status..
