November 16, 1965 CONEIDENLIAL Demonstrations Protesting United States Intervention In Viet Nam On November 12, 1965, Detective b6 Bureau of Special Services, New York City Police Depart- b7C ment (Bss, NycpD), advised that on November 12, l965, an East Harlem "Speak Out" on Viet Nam was conducted at the De Witt Clinton Creative Arts Center, llO East llOth Street, New York, New York, from approximately eight forty PM to eleven fifteen PM.. There were approximately ninety to one hundred aano neade! dae ge deuepunage at deoaaed Speaking against our policy in Viet Nam were "La Nueva Voz"; former Professor b6 who is described in the brochure of the. b7C Free university, Session 1965, as scheduled.to teach a 'History of the Cold War"; Society of Jesus, who opposed our poijey in viet'nam strictly on religious grounds and StanleyxAranowitz, a member of the Oil and Chemical Workers Union. Supporting our policy were New York Teamsters Union, both of whom were described as b6 students. b7C Speakers against our policy urged withdrawal of.
