0012 Corinecticut'State Conventions OfthoCPA_and CP - 7/22 and 8/12/45 Confidential Infornant T--5 advised that BRansren was definitely considered among those classed as the opposing faction to the State and National leadership of the CPA and had not made a very satisfactory im- pression at the July 2md State Convention.. Confidential Infornant T-6 adviged that the subject attended the Connecticut State CPA Convention on July 22nd, 1945 held at liooso Hall, 840 Main Street, Bridgeport, Connecticut. He was pernitted to at- tond with the status of a guest, This informant furnitshed no other in- roportod misconduct on the part of the subject at this convention. d.I. -7 was advised by PEARl Russo, thet she, as State Secretary of thc CPA, had addressed the State Convention on July 22 at Bridgopart. Her ro- morks had been accepted as vory good by the rank and fiie and the.officers. and particularly by ODA,-the State President. According to this infornant. BRAnsten did not like her speech and had renarked to sevoral prosent that PEaRf Russo was too omotional, Ho had intimated that as long as her speoch was.along.tho linos of leadorship, she should have naned names, not neces- largo, BRAnsten had'considered it a very good state convention but had. wanted the convention to really take a stand on national leadership: The informant was advised by RurH OnDA, wife of the State President, that ONDA planned to aecuse BRAnsteN of violating his status as a guest at the convention but atated that BRansteh had renarked that ONDA's report to the convention wes the beat that he had. ever heard.
