Richard Hall, in a letter dated October 26th, furnishedto the Bureau
Information that'a former member of his organization has been accused by
Mrs. Jean'Coven, I70 Parkville Avenue, Brooklyn 30, New York, of swindling her.
out of thousands of dollars and stealing her car.' Hall said Mrs. Coven informed his!.
Committee that the'matter has been turned over to the FBI. He said the purpose of
his letter is'to offer cooperation to the Bureau and to publicize Blair in their
membership publication to assist in locating him..
Bufiles fail to reflect any identifiable information concerning the
alleged swindler, Lloyd'Blair, formerly of 18 West 25th Street, .New York 10, New.
York, or with Mrs. Jean Coven. Files reflect Hall has furnished information to the
Bureau in the past, the Iast in April, 1962, to the effect that a Dr. Frank E. Stranges.
implied he was associated with the.FBI. The complaint had previously been received
by the Seattle Office in October, 1960, and an inquiry had been made resulting in the
failure to substantiate the allegation. Dr. Stranges was an Evangelist who 'claimed he?
talked to an individual from the Planet Venus.. Mr. Hall was furnished an In Absence.
reply on this occasion. The Director of the National Investigations Committee on'
Aerial Phenomena, Major Donald E. Keyhoe, has been known to the Bureau sinceth
1930's. He has been a free-lance wrlter and some of the materiaI he furnished'of:
interest to the Bureau has been found to be irresponsible. This matter was discussed
with a supervisor in the General Investigative Division..
