The source is a high-ranking member'of La Cosa Nostra (LcN), and as such, is privy to meetings and conversations during which criminal activity is planned. The source has also been instrumental in providing strategic'intelligence concerning the hierarchy of three New York Crime "Families", which enables the New York Field office to direct its resources accordingly. The informant is in a unigue position to provide. information relating to loansharking, labor racketeering, murder, extortion and drugs, primarily concerning the Colombo Crime Family. In addition, the source regularly furnishes information with respect to the daily activities of Gambino Crime Family Boss, John Gotti, and his associates. Of particular value was information which discloses a plot to murder a Bonanno Crime Family associate for the inadvertent shooting of one of Gotti's soldiers during the assassination of Top Ten Fugitive, Constabile "Gus" Farace. The informant identified Farace's killers and provided information concerning their affiliation with the New York LCN..
