Washington, Dc 205l0 ol 510230287 Result of examination: 51023u29 It could not be definitely~determined if the typewriter used to prepare specimen Kl was or was not used to prepare questioned typewriting on the previously submitted specimens Ql through Q7 and on specimens Q8, Qcll and Ql2 because possible identifying defects cannot be discerned. However, the typewritten impressions on the aforementioned questioned specimens and on specimen Kl all have horizontal spacing of-'25l.5 (l00 characters occupy 25l.5 millimeters of horizontal space). This horizontal spacing and the accompanying coding of the questioned and known typewriting is extremely unusual and is included neither in Federal Bureau of Investigation Typewriter Standards nor in Interpol-Typewriter Standards. Additionally, the aforementioned questioned and known typewritten impressions are all of the same style. A more definite determination would require the. submission of the specimen Kl typewriter to the Laboratory for examination. The specimen Kl typewriter was not used in the preparation of specimens Qc9 and Qcl0. The information in the first three paragraphs above applies regarding typewritten impressions on specimens Ql through Q4 in the Bureau case whose title includes.
