LAugHLIN concerning a wire received by the Department of Justice. that this wire 'was sent to the Justice Department, Attention: WILllAM RODGers, from Washington, D.C., on 2/7/55 at l0:h7 AM. The wire read: uInterview PAUL HUGHEs, 412 Albee Building, immediately. for ney details pertaining to Remington and Matusow.. DUKE SIEVERS." : According to Western Union records, this telegram was sent from a pay telephone located in Peoples Drugstore, llo? Pennsylvania YAvenue, N.W., directly across the street from wro. Investigation on N2/9/55 reflectec that the Manager's Office of the Albee Building did not Albee Building reflected that that service took calls for Huches but knew J'little about him. They knew he traveled around the country a lot and stopped in at the answering service to pick up messages. They did not ^ knor just what he did but stated he had no home phone. , They stated he was evidently self-employed. US -289! HUGHEs could not be identified in the files of the Credit Bureau,. the MPD, Dun and Bradstreet, the City Directory, Telephone Directory, White House press conferences.
