Enclosed for the Fbi Laboratory, Identification Division, Latent Pingorprint Section, is the original letter ard anvelope sent to Hew York State Governor mArio cuohO, thrcatening his life. One copy of each of the above is enclosed for Buffalo. b6 On 3/7/85, Senior Investigator. New York State Police (Nysp), Protective Services, detail, b7C Governor's Hansion, Albany, New York, made available an original of a letter and envelope mailed from Buffalo, New York, on 2/26/85, threatening the life of Ney York State Governor MARio cuonO. Senior Investlgator advised that this letter was addressed to *uArio M. cuono, State Capital, Albany, New York, l2224,- with a return address of *WILBUR B. TRAMMEL, City Court, Buffalo, New York". further stated that this letter was originally received by the Correspondence Unit at the State Capital and turned over to him on 3/4/85. Investigator allowed that both the letter and the envelope would have been routinely handled by several persons before it came into his .possession. further advised that several b6 Investigator b7C other threatening letters containing the exact text of the one enclosed had been received previously by the Correspondence Unit at the State Capital and have since been fozwarded to the Buffalo Office of the FBi. These included letters to New York State Assemblyuan DENNIs GORSkI; New York State Comptroller, BDWARD NED REGAN, and New York State Attorney General Ronerr AsRans. The enclosed original extortion letter should be forwarded to Buffalo Diyision as office of origin in this matter upon completion of FBr Laboratory. examinations. Since no further active investigatlon remains at Albany, this matter is referred upon conpletion to Buffalo.
