FD-302 (REV. 11-27-70) FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION 12/19/78 home telephone ws contacted at his place of business telephone number and after being advised of the identity of SA was advised that he was being contacted in response to the telephone call which he, had made to the Fort Worth. Resident Agency of the FBI on December 15, 1978, offering a tape recording of radio transmissions between Jonestown, Guyana and san Francisco(u) At this time made available a Capitd C60 cassette tape with recorded information of radio transmissions on one side.(u) advised that from reviewing his logs, he believes this recording was made during the first couple of weeks of August, l97s, however, he advised he cannot at this time be more specific about the date. He advised that it was approxi- mately ll:00 p.m. or 12:00 midnight when he heard the trans- missions coming over the air and thought it was conversations between medical missionaries and used a Lloyd's cassette recorder and microphone to record the conversation between two women operators./u) advised he has a Tentec Triton Four receiver with a Cushgraph ATB34 antenna and operates under ham radio license Pand the station is located at his residence. advised that prior to starting the recorder, one of the operators mentioned that they were transmitting from Jonestown and were going to Georgetown and would return to Jonestown the following day.. He advised that in listening to the radio transmissions, he felt the radio procedures were correct, however, the conver- sations did not make sense, and after recording the conversations. he had played it for a friend who had indicated that he thought the messages were possibly coded.
