Mr. Louis W. Schneider Iranc?: NOTE:This is in response to Mr. Schneider's inquiry regarding the death of. Anna Mae Aquash, deceased FBI fugitive who was known to be with the four indicted Resmurs subjects when they fled from the murder scene at Rapid City, South Dakota, 6/26/75. Aquash was later apprehended in possession of firearm during a raid by FBI at the residence of Al Running during November, i975. She failed to appear based on charges. stemming from that raid and was subsequently declared a fugitive. She remained in that status until her death. The Ietter to Mr. Schneider contains the information in a press release recently approved by the Director, as well as an explanation of the reason hands are removed from deceased for identification purposes.
