The purpose of the group was to cooperate with the Government; relief of refugees (including medical); to in- fluence public opinion; to promote national unity. The following statement has been adopted by the Steering Committee of this group, May, 1943 and the activities of the subject group will be based on these principles: (a) The com- pleted efeat of the Axis powers, Asiatic as well as European, and their unconditional. surrender; (b) A relation of mutual trust ard collaboration. among the United Nations and the invaded peoples resisting Axis domination; (c) Permanent inter-. rational organization so implemented and san- ctioned as to provide effectively for world-wide Y security, freedom, welfare and justice is the goal of the present effort of the United Nations; (d) Every manifestation of defeatism, partisan selfish- ness and totalitarian sympathy at home is to be challenged and attacked. The group.is made up of. noted Harvard professors, all names and positions. set forth. Some of the work perforned by the group has been at the request of Government Agencies, such as civilian lectures in the Army Orientation Courses in the Army Camps in the First Service Command. At the request of the 'Office of Strategic Services, the group prepared a/shandbook of which 3 chapters are on Nazi Germany y-BOPIES DESTROYED -Boston DOPY IN FIL 2034
