On July 5, l972, the United States Secret Service,
Washington, D. C., furnished the Federal Bureau of Investiga-.
tion (FBl) with a letter written to

Governor GEORGE C. WALLACE at the Governor's Mansion, Montgomery.
Alabama. This letter was signed,.
and contained an address which indicated
was confined
at the Maryland State Penitentiary, Baltimore, Maryland. This.
letter contained numerous newspaper articles with notes over some
of the parts of the articles indicating displeasure or hate
towards persons described in the articles, and further contained
political opinions and theories, and continued to be hostile
and threatening in nature to numerous political leaders, who
are set forth as victims above.
The following investigation was conducted at Baltimore,
Maryland, on July 17, 1972:
