Objector.
The "New Y rk Evening Journal" issue of April 23,
1942, contains an article entitlei "Ex-Rec won't
Secretary of the Fellowship of Reconciliation (roR),
had refused to register under the Selective Service
Act. In the article Musre is described as a former
leader of the Trotslyite faction of the Communist
movement in this country..
The article also relates
that MusTE was arrested in Illinois in l934, charged
with plotting to overthrow the goverrment, but ne
was later released..
The April 14, l957, 1ssue of #The Worker," page 16,
column I, described A. J. MusTE as the Dean of "So-
cialist Pacifists" and Secretary Fmeritus of the
FOR.
In August l964, a source described A. J. MusTE as
National Chairman of the Committee on Non-Violent
Action, 325 Lafayette Street, New York, N. Y.
