BS 100-45652 On 7/16/73, a third source who is in a position to furnish reliable information of this sort advised that a review of the subject's file in Colby College failed to reflect any unfavorable or derogatory information concerninghim. Source recalled the subject as being a quiet student who caused no trouble to her knowledge a the campus. On 7/16/73, the knowledgeabie source was re- contacted and advised that there has been no recent activity on the part of sDs at that college and he does not expect it to be a problem in the future because of lack of interest on the part of the student body. He noted that the former Assistant Professor of English, DAVID G. STRATMAN, was a strong promoter for the founding of an SDS Chapter, Colby College, but that STRATMAN's teaching contract expired in June 'of 1973 and was mt renewed. He noted that DAVID G. STRATMAN's present address is 36 East St., Apartment 3, Dorchester, Mass. The above-mentioned source further noted that even with STRATMAN's backing, SDS was only able to obtain three members at that college as identified above and it. was source's observation that none of the three members were particularly enthused about the organization. He noted that the subject is no longer on campus but is living in Mass., and it was his recollection that the subject was not the type of individual who would engage. in any rebellious or violent activity or one who wauld advocate the overthrow of the Us Government by force or violence.. He further stated that inasuuch as STRATMAN has left campus, he does not expect SDs to be active any longer on campus because of the lack of interest and motivation on the part of the student body. This case is being closed as the subject's activities do not warrant investigtion.
