LATIN KINGS
This is in response to your memorandum to
Paul E. Coffey, Chief, Organized Crime and Racketeering Section,
dated March 8, 1995,
concerning the New York Division's
"Latin Kings".' I have reviewed your certification that the
relate and that the activity is necessary for the detection and
prosecution of crimes against the United states.
Based on information furnished with your request, I am
satisfied that it is designed to accomplish the detection and
prosecution of crimes against the United States. I also concur
in certifying that the requested exemptions to deposit
appropriated funds into banks or other financial institutions and

task force.
The funds in question can only be expended on expenses
relating directly to undercover activities of the task force. To
the extent the task force has general expenses that do not relate
to, or further undercover activities, the appropriated funds are
' not to be used.
