On Saturday, 8/15/87. advised that an envelope addressed to ELIZABETH TAYLOR at METRO COLDWYN MAYER (MGM) SruDios with a return address of was observed to have written on the outside, HT'd like to kill SHIRLEY BLACK.# advised that they b6 suspected that the letter was a letter' bomb. They contacted the b7C postal inspector's office who advised them to contact the FBI. They put the letter in a desk drawer and were holding it for the FBI. On 8/l7/87, writer telephonically advised at the station that there was no extortion violation based on the statement outside the envelope. He was also advised that if they suspected that the envelope contained a letter bomb that. the FBI was not going to come out and pick it up. It was. recommended that'they re-contact the postal inspector's office. and also the LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT Bomb Squad. Writer further advised that the letter should be, if cleared, delivered threats against any person that the FBI should be contacted.
