Department Attorney PHILLIp wHITE. who handled
previous grand jury proceedings in captioned matter was
in East St. Louis, Illinois, on or about February 26 and 27.
however, United States Attorney CARL W. FEICKERT at East
St. Louis was out of town and Mr. FeIckeRT has advised.
he had no contact or conversation with whiTe or any other
Department Attorney concerning captioned matter.
Mr. FEickeRT reiterated that since this matter was
handled through the Department he did not feel it was his
prerogative to give an opinion concerning the matter but
that he, FEIckeRT, could see no further avenue of investigatior.
or approach to this matter..
In view of the above, the Bureau is requested
to make contact with the Department concerning any additional.
investigation desired or any further action contemplated.
