A check of the records of the Veterans Administration (VA) disclosed that Mr. Mikva enlisted jin the United States Army Air Corps (USAAC) Reserve on May 5, 1943. He served on active duty in the USAAC from January 25, 1944, to November 10, 1945, when he was honorably discharged as a second lieutenant due to demobilization.
