The following interviews were conducted on July 20,
1965:

acquainted’ with the appointee since 1933 when the appointee o7C
graduated from Yale Law School at the top of his class. He p7D
added that the appointee was Chairman of the Law Review at
that school. He stated the appointee was made a faculty
member of the Yale Law School after graduating and remained
on the faculty for several years. He said he and the appointee
were associated with the Agricultural Adjustment Administration
during 1933 - 1934 and he has been in constant touch
the appointee's entire career until the present tisef
Stated that when he resigned from the bench in the middle
1940's, he and the appointee formed a law partnership and they
have been together dntil the present time. He remarked that
he considers the appointee to be a very outstanding attorney
who is very capable and has a very high reputation in the
legal profession. He said there has never been any question
concerning the appointee's character, integrity, or ethics
and he is certain he is a loyal American and devot e
best interests of the United States. According oo the
appointee's associates are all individuals of excellent charac-
ter. In conclusion, he advised he would give the appointee the
highest recommendation for an appointment to a position of
trust.
