NOTE: Department by previous memoranda requested ‘¢ electronic surveillance information concerning Hoffman as he is charged with antiriot violations in connection with recent May Day demonstratinss in Washington, D. C. Hoffman's prior antiriot conviction and contempt citations in connection with the "Chicago 7" case are still under appeal. We transmitted the requested information and documents to the Department in accordance with their prior request. Department in their memorandum of 7/14/71, request that they be transmitted duplicate copies of 5 separate surveillance logs. Mr. MacQueeny, Internal Security Division of the Department, requested by telephone on 7/15/71 that the logs be transmitted to him as soon as possible as they desire to file briefs on 7/16/71.
