On February 18, 1970, Jerry Rubin and David
Dellinger were found guilty in the United
States District Court,Northern District of -
Illinois, Chicago, Illinois for violating the
Federal Anti-Riot Law Statute for traveling
in interstate commerce from outside the State
of Illinois with intent to incite riots in
Chicago, Illinois, during the Democratic
National Convention in August, 1968, On February
20, 1970, they were sentenced to five years
imprisonment and fined $5,000. On February
20, 1970, the United States Court of Appeals,
Seventh Circuit, Chicago, Illinois ordered them
released on $25,000 bond pending appeal of
their conviction,
