PURPOSE:
Subject for violation of Antiriot Laws in connection with
his arrest during current “May Day" demonstrations, Washington,
B.C.

DETAILS:
sb Hoffman is one of the "Chicago 7" defendants convicted
of Antiriot Laws violation and cited for Contempt of Court.
Presently free on bond, he reportedly was arrested in connection
with current "May Day" disruptions, 5/3/71, and eens CK

released after posting collateral.

Department Attorney Kevin Moroney telephonically
=. advised on 5/4/71 that Department is considering proceeding
=I against Hoffman under several statutes, primarily Title 18,

Section 2101, U.S. Code, (interstate travel or use of interstate
any information in the Bureau's possession which could be
utilized to prosecute Hoffman along above lines. Moroney was...
referred to several Bureau communications previously furnished ~
| the Department containing recent statements made in Oklahoma
by Hoffman urging travel to Washington, D. C., to commit
violence. He was advised this did not represent a full review
of Bureau files for available information in this regard.
Moroney later called requesting the identity of individuals
who could testify to the violent statements of subject arnearing
in an Oklahoma City Office communication dated 4/29/71, captioned
“David Tyre Dellinger, aka, Et Al., (Travel of Defendants);
Antiriot Laws ~ Conspiracy; Contempt of Court." He also
requested that future information in this matter be furnished
