In Addition, as a result of his conduct and state-
ments in court during this trial, Hoffman was found by
USDC Judge Hoffman to be clearly a dangerous individual,
and on February 14, 1970, was sentenced toa total of
@€ight (8) months and 14 days in the custody of the AG
for 24 separate instances of summary contempt of court.
Bond was denied on both the contempt and ARL convictions.
On February 28, 1970, the United States Court of
Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, Chicago, Illinois, ordered
Hoffman, and those convicted with him, admitted to bail
with the provision that he not travel outside the state
ef his residence (New York) without notifying the United
e States Marshal, Chicago, 1° ‘inois, and further, that he was
ol not to travel outside the « ntinental United States without
-- the express approval of the Court of Appeals.

On September 9, 1970, Chief Judge Luther MK.
Swygert and Circuit Judge Thomas E. Fairchild of the
United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit
entered an order granting the above rotion giving
~ Hoffman permission to travel to Canada on September 25
1970.
