on Rockefeller Chapel lawn, University of Illinois, on May 10,
1963. Among those appearing were Abner Hoffman, a Yippie
leader who stated that the current electozl politics

stopping ot the present system in t'avor a a directly
representative government. He also suggested ways of using
words that attracted the news media like, change the "H'" in
Hippie to "Y" for Yippie. This change was 100% successful
in getting national publicity thanks to the news media.
