RE: YOUTH INTERNATIONAL PARTY
The Zippies went to the Victor Hotel around
5:30 P.M., and about 80 of them took over the lobby and
insisted MC GOVERN come to see them. The Victor Hotel
is the Young Democratic headquarters. The reason for
this demonstration was that they thought MC GOVERN had
compromised himself on his former stand on tax reform and
Vaetnam, By 7:30 P.M., the Zippies left the hotel. No
representative of MC GOVERN appeared. There were no
incidents.
The Zippies are not going to demonstrate at the
Fontainebleau Hotel on July 13, but instead plan an “Eat
the Rich Day”, and they will do this ehout &:00 DM.
leaving Flamingo Park for the Convention Center. They
intend to push an old Cadillac to the Center and set it
afire. It is believed a lot of them will depart Miami on
Sunday, July 16, 1972.
The Zippies conducted an “Eat the Rich" march
and demonstration on the evening of July 13, 1972. This
was actually a combined YIP~ZIP march, and they carried a
large blown-up portrait of LYNDON B, JOHNSON. This was done
in place of the original idea of burning the old Cadillac
belonging to TOM FORCADE at the convention site. At the
convention site, there were about 250 of these demonstrators,
and they burned the portrait of LYNDON B, JOHNSON and took a
vote on whether or not to crash the fence, This vote was
conducted by PATRICK SMALL of the Zippies, and they voted
against it. Zippie leaders TOM FORCADE and PATRICK SMALL
appeared to be the leaders of this march and demonstration.
