The September 3, 1970 issue of the "New York
Daily News", a daily NYC newspaper, contained
an article captioned, "Dial-A-Radical Gives
Leftist New Soan Box", which sets forth in part

Art, 11 West 53rd Street, NYC,/called, 'Dial-
A-Poem", gives the listener two minutes of taped
revolutionary rhetoric from coritemporary radicals.
The museum, which has banker DAVID ROCKEFELLER
as its Chairman and Governor ROCKEFELLER as one of
its trustees, pays $284 a month for the tapes and
/ teleohones, which are the brainchild of Village
poet JOHN GIORNO, 33 years old. According to the
article, "GIORNO reasons that all revolutionaries
are, at heart, poets, and shoul be heard by as
wide an audience as possible." 2)

"The Village Voice", a weekly NYC newspaper,
January 1, 1970 issue, under the heading, "Scenes"
written by HOWARD~ GUSH —set_forth in part that
“JOHN GIORNO, Creator of tne now defunct Dial-
A-Poem (out Of business due to lack of money and
problems with the Telephone Company) has come up
with a new medium for urban revolutionaries called
uerrilia Radio." The article sets forth that
FLORNO was planning to broadcast below 100
milowatts as part of a 30 hour marathon New Years
Eve happening at St. Mark's in the Bowery.(<c)
